Air Quality in Nunavut

Particulate matter is particulate matter less than 2.5 micrometers in diameter that can penetrate into the lungs and bloodstream, causing serious health problems. The most serious effects are on the lungs and heart. Exposure can lead to coughing or difficulty breathing, worsening asthma and developing chronic respiratory disease.
