Storms and Tornado Risk in the Central

The central Plains and Midwest are the most vulnerable to disruptive weather, with a powerful system predicted to trigger severe thunderstorms with hail, destructive winds, and potential tornadoes.

Areas from Kansas and Oklahoma to Missouri and southern Illinois should remain weather-aware, especially on Saturday, when the storm danger is likely to peak.

On Monday, thunderstorm activity may shift somewhat eastward into the Ohio Valley and mid-South, increasing the chance of isolated severe weather as the weekend winds down.

Rain and a Chilly Start in Northeast and Mid-Atlantic

A stalled system in the Northeast will bring rain, persistent clouds, and colder temperatures to Pennsylvania, New York, and New England regions.

While the greatest rain will occur on Friday, lingering showers may last into early Saturday, especially in inland locations.

Fortunately, the weather is predicted to improve by Sunday afternoon and into Memorial Day. Throughout the Northeast, expect highs in the low to mid-60s.

Warm, Humid, and Unsettled in the Southeast

The Memorial day weather forecast in the Southeast: warm, humid air with a daily potential of pop-up thunderstorms, particularly in the afternoon and evening.

While not a washout, Georgia, Florida, and the Carolinas should prepare for irregular rains that may disrupt outdoor events.

Mostly Calm and Comfortable on the West Coast

Most of the West Coast expects favorable, dry weather, with highs in the 70s and 80s inland.

Coastal locations may see colder temperatures and morning marine layers, but no severe storms are forecast.

Heat in the Desert Southwest and Four Corners

Dangerous early-season heat is gripping Nevada, Arizona, and areas of California's interior. Temperatures in Las Vegas and Phoenix are expected to exceed 100°F, prompting extreme heat warnings.
